The "Sweetest" Day of the Year
Valentine’s Day is one of the sweetest holidays of the year—and for bakers, it’s the perfect excuse to whip up something special.
Whether you're baking cookies for a classroom party, preparing cupcakes for a loved one, or creating a beautiful dessert for a romantic dinner, there’s something magical about sharing homemade treats.
And isn't that the most joyful thing ever, to create sweet treats that bring a smile to the faces of the recipients? For me, this is everything!
My Valentine's Day Journey
Back in 2013 I decided to open a cottage bakery. I live in Texas, where the laws aren't as stringent. I did everything required of me and before long was (legally!) selling products out of my home.
That first Valentine's Day (and the many that followed) were, without a doubt, my busiest seasons. People love their Valentine treats and I became skilled at offering everything from hand-painted cookies to cakes to cupcakes. I have vivid memories of staying up all night long to paint cookie after cookies, then praying they would dry in time to deliver!

Of course, this was years before I started this blog. Now that the blog is doing well, I no longer sell cakes and cookies. I shut down that business. These days, I'm all about the recipes, especially on special days like Valentine's Day.
Some of these recipes are quick and easy, others are show-stopping desserts, but every one of them is designed to bring a little extra sweetness to the day.
Let’s bake something sweet!
