Wired Differently. . .and That's Okay
I've been on the planet awhile. Longer than many in my circles. And I've met enough people to know that I'm, well, unique.
(Hint: You are, too!)
The way I respond is different.
The things I enjoy. . .different.
The way I express myself. . .very different.
And that's okay.
So God created human beings in his image. In the image of God he created them.

Created on Purpose, For a Purpose
This past weekend I spoke at a women's event and shared my thoughts on biblical creativity. I believe we're created in the image of a creative God to do creative things. . .and that motto propels me in nearly every area of my life.
When it comes to baking, I really stretch this theory to the max. That's why my recipes here on the blog are different from other recipe sites.
It's why I love to take something ordinary--like a simple box of cake mix--and turn it into something extraordinary.

I can't seem to do anything the ordinary way. I literally spend hours dreaming up new ways to do ordinary things.
Let's Step Out of the Box
My "out of the box" thinking is (I believe) biblical. I genuinely feel that I am created in the image of a very creative Creator! (Hey, if you don't think He's creative, just look at the animal kingdom! Why make a giraffe's neck so long? And, what's the deal with sloths?)
You get the point. Uniqueness is in our spiritual DNA.
Perhaps you consider yourself different. Unique. Good! Together, let's embrace our God-given uniqueness and use for to His glory!
And by the way, the next time you see some wacky recipe of mine and think, "Whelp, that's different" . . .it probably is. And I'm incredibly happy you see my uniqueness, too!
