Can I use Oreos in my Desserts?

If you've been following me for a while, you know I've got a soft spot for Oreos.

I used them in my Delicious Oreo Dirt Cake. Oh, and I used them again in my Valentine Oreo Balls. (Talk about a simple, easy treat!)

My family would say their favorite Oreo dessert that I make is my Mint Oreo Trifle. I have to admit, it's over-the-top delicious!

My Lemon Lush is yummy and so are my Chocolate Covered Oreos.

Oreos are the Perfect Treat!

I guess you get the idea. I love to use Oreos in my desserts and there's a reason why. Oreos are universally loved by people across the globe.

And these days? Well, you can buy them in just about any flavor your imagination can dream up!

So, today I dreamed up a pie. A delicious, creamy Oreo Pie. And boy oh boy, my imagination didn't let me down! I'll share more below about how this recipe turned out. For now, let's look at what you'll need to make it.

Oreo Cheesecake Pie Ingredients

  • Oreo Cheesecake pudding
  • Cool Whip (or homemade whipped cream, heavy cream beaten to stiff peaks)
  • room temperature cream cheese
  • crushed Oreos
  • single graham cracker crust
  • milk (to thin, optional)

Transfer Oreo cheesecake filling to the crust and spread in an even layer. Use a rubber spatula to scrape the edges of the bowl so you don't miss any.

(Honestly? The hardest part was not nibbling on the filling before transferring it to the crust!)

This is a thick filling so be gentle! I learned the hard way that my crust had cracks in it!

If you feel the need to thin down your filling, you can always add half a cup of milk to the mix before transferring it to the crust.

Place the top of the crust container back on and refrigerate for an hour or until it’s set.

If you like, you can decorate the top with more whipped cream.

You can even add more Oreos.

Store leftovers in airtight container up to five days in refrigerator.

What to Expect from this Easy Dessert

Easy No Bake Oreo Cheesecake Pie from Out of the Box Baking.com

I absolutely love this one, folks! It’s a similar recipe to my Cherry Icebox Pie, with Oreos in place of the cherries.

It’s also like my No Bake Strawberry Cheesecake Pie, in that it merges whipped cream and cream cheese.

But in this case, the added sweetness of the Oreos is appropriate because the cheesecake filling without the Oreos isn’t terribly sweet. That’s because no sugar is added to the cream cheese mixture before combining it with the other ingredients.

The best part? I absolutely love the crunch of the Oreos against the creaminess of the filling. And that crust (even though mine was broken) is perfect. (Graham cracker crusts have always been a favorite with me, and this one doesn't disappoint.)

This is one of those Oreo desserts I can make again and again! It's the perfect make-ahead dessert.

Variations on this No Bake Oreo Cheesecake Recipe

I’m already thinking of things I could do differently next time. Here are some of my ideas:

Oreo Pie Crust: I think this one would have been even better with a chocolate crust. You can buy them ready made or you can actually make a crust out of remaining Oreos. (Homemade Oreo crust? Yum!) Just crush them in a food processor, add a bit of melted butter, and press them into a pie dish. (Hint: When I'm feeling feisty I put mine in a ziplock bag and beat them with a rolling pin until I'm left with fine crumbs.)

Hot Fudge: I decided to add some hot fudge drizzle to the top of mine. For best results, let it cool a bit before drizzling on.

Mint Oreos: Want to make a grasshopper pie? Easy-breezy! Just use York Mint Chocolate pudding mix and Mint Oreos. (Yum!) This one would be a lot like my Mint Oreo Trifle. (A simple recipe, but so tasty! I consider this a perfect dessert.)

Lemon Oreos: Use lemon pudding and lemon Oreos but leave everything else the same. (Sounds delicious, right?)

Red Velvet Oreo Pie: Use chocolate pudding with a dot of red food coloring. Then use Red Velvet Oreos. (Can you even imagine how delicious this one would be?)

Sour cream: Don't have whipped cream? Sour cream will do in a pinch but you'll need to sweeten it with powdered sugar.

Whipped topping: Cover the entire top of the pie with whipped cream before adding melted chocolate. (Delicious!)

Use a springform pan: If you're going with a homemade crust, you might consider a springform pan, which will make the pie easier to release.
