Luscious No-Bake Peanut Butter Pie

This easy No-Bake Peanut Butter Pie is rich, creamy, and loaded with peanut butter flavor. Make it in minutes with simple ingredients — the perfect crowd-pleasing dessert for any occasion!

The Why Behind the Pie

If you guys know me at all, you know I’m always on the lookout for desserts that deliver big flavor without a lot of fuss. Between my books, baking, teaching, and grandkids (and dogs!) I lead a very, very full life. I don't have time to go the extra mile with my baked goods, trust me!

This creamy No-Bake Peanut Butter Pie is a new favorite. It comes together in (literally) minutes, requires zero oven time (always a plus), and tastes like something straight out of a bakery. The mergence of the chocolate crust and peanut butter filling gives off peanut butter cup vibes, so adding mini Reese's peanut butter cups on top just makes sense.

Whether you’re hosting a holiday gathering or just craving something sweet, this recipe is simple, reliable, and absolutely irresistible. And I promise your guests will love it! (I'm serving this one at our family's Thanksgiving dinner and can't wait to hear their responses!)

Update: It was delicious and got rave reviews!

How to Make No-Bake Peanut Butter Pie

Did I mention this one comes together easily? That's going to come in handy on a busy day when you need a quick dessert! Here's how you're going to do it:

Make the Oreo Crust

  1. Pulse Oreos in a food processor until they become fine crumbs.
  2. Add melted butter and mix until crumbs are evenly coated.
  3. Press the mixture firmly into a 9-inch pie pan, going up the sides.
  4. Chill the crust in the refrigerator while you prepare the filling (10–15 minutes).

Note: If you don't have a food processor, put them in a ziplock bag and crush them with your rolling pin. Bonus: you get to take out your aggressions on those cookies!

Make the Creamy Peanut Butter Filling

  1. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese until smooth.
  2. Add peanut butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla; mix until well combined and fluffy.
  3. Fold in the Cool Whip (or homemade whipped cream) gently using a rubber spatula until you have a smooth, airy filling.
  4. Add mini chocolate chips (optional)

Assemble

  1. Spoon the filling into the chilled Oreo crust.
  2. Smooth the top with an offset spatula.
  3. Refrigerate at least 3–4 hours, or until fully set. Overnight is even better!

Decorate (Optional but Fun!)

  • Add a swirl of Cool Whip around the edges
  • Pile chopped mini Reese’s cups in the center
  • Drizzle chocolate syrup
  • Sprinkle crushed peanuts or crushed Oreos

Serve and Enjoy!

It's best to chill this one well before serving. Trust me, you're going to love it cold!

Storage

  • Store pie in the refrigerator, loosely covered, for up to 4–5 days.
  • Freeze slices individually for a cool, creamy treat — just thaw 10–15 minutes before serving.

Variations

You know me. . .I love to mix things up. And this recipe is super versatile, which means you can absolutely do that! Here are some things to try:

  • Graham Cracker Crust: Swap Oreos for a classic graham cracker crust.
  • Crunchy Peanut Butter: Adds a little texture!
  • Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie: Add ¼ cup cocoa powder to the filling.
  • Pretzel Crust: Sweet + salty is always a winner.

Questions People Are Asking

Can I use homemade whipped cream instead of Cool Whip?
Yes! Use 3 cups stabilized whipped cream for best texture.

Why is my filling too soft?
Your cream cheese may have been too warm. Chill the pie longer to firm it up.

Can I make this ahead of time?
Absolutely — this is a perfect make-ahead dessert. Make it a day in advance for the best set and flavor.
