Pumpkin is Perfect for Cozy Autumn Days
What is it about those warm scents of pumpkin, cinnamon, nutmeg, clove, and ginger? They immediately put us in mind of autumn leaves, cups of pumpkin latte, and leisurely conversations with friends.
I know that many of my readers are crazy about pumpkin, in particular, which is why I decided to combine all of my pumpkin-themed desserts into one concise round-up post.
I've got cookies, pies, cakes, and much more! Most of these recipes are from my blog, but a few are borrowed from friends. Be sure to check out their blogs, too!
Why Pumpkin?
Pumpkins were a staple in Native American diets ages and ages before becoming a contemporary fall favorite. Pumpkin desserts became popular in the 19th century. They just seem to cry out, "Autumn is here!" (Don't believe me? I once went to a brunch where literally everything served was pumpkin flavored!)
Which might be a good time to mention that I'm allergic.
In fact, I'm so allergic to pumpkin that I had to make a rushed trip to the hospital years ago.
Still, I had to feature a few recipes on my blog to satisfy my readers. (Disclaimer: I often swap out sweet potato puree when baking these desserts to avoid the risk.)
