Short and Sweet French Toast
This is a “short and sweet” post, friends, which means it’s not loaded down with text. I’ve been on a roll making French toast lately, including my delicious PB&J Stuff French Toast. But tonight I decided to make a dessert French toast, one recommended by a friend.
Let’s get right to it!
French Toast with Orange Glaze Ingredients
These are simple ingredients you probably have on hand.
- white bread (or bread of choice)
- large eggs
- whole milk
- orange juice, (divided)
- powdered sugar
- Optional: 1/4 teaspoon orange extract
- More powdered sugar for sprinkling
- butter
How to Make French Toast with Orange Glaze
Make glaze by mixing together powdered sugar and 2 tablespoons orange juice. Set aside.
Place butter in skillet and turn on medium heat.
In a medium bowl whisk together eggs, milk, and 2 tablespoons of orange juice.
Dip each piece of bread on both sides.
Place in skillet and cook until golden brown.
Flip and continue to cook.
Once the toast is done, place on a plate and drizzle glaze on top.
Sprinkle with powdered sugar.
Serve and enjoy!
Store leftovers in airtight container in refrigerator.
What to Expect from this French Toast
Y’all, it’s a dessert, it’s a breakfast dish, it’s a great option for an afternoon tea. . .this Orange French Toast is sheer perfection any time of day! I can’t believe I’ve never heard of it until today! Thanks to my friend Carol for the idea! I love the soft hints of citrus flavor from the orange and I’m crazy about the buttery crispness of the skillet fried toast. This is perfect!
That’s it for this post, friends! I hope you enjoyed this delicious recipe.

This sounds wonderful. Another suggestion for bread - we use Panettone bread when it comes out during the holidays. Outstanding!
