If you’re looking for a light, fluffy frosting, one that’s a little different from a traditional buttercream, you’re going to love this delicious marshmallow fluff frosting! Best of all, it comes together in minutes!
Welcome to another Short and Sweet recipe, y’all! This one is new frosting recipe. In fact, I just tried it tonight for the first time. I usually use my Dreamy Buttercream or a Traditional Cream Cheese Frosting. Sometimes I make a Decorator’s Buttercream. But this time? Well, I wanted something different.
I happened to have a container of marshmallow fluff on hand and decided to use it for this very purpose. This frosting is creamy and delicious—sweet, but not overly sweet. It’s truly a fun new recipe that I plan to use again and again! (The grandkids are going to love it!)
Marshmallow Fluff Frosting Ingredients
You will find a full printable recipe card at the bottom of this post but here’s a little peek at what you’ll need. These are simple ingredients you might already have on hand.
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) room temperature butter (salted or unsalted, your choice)
- 1/2 cup Crisco
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 (7-ounce) container marshmallow fluff (marshmallow creme)
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
That’s it! Just a few ingredients to make one of the most delicious frostings you’ll ever taste!
How to Make Marshmallow Fluff Frosting
This comes together quickly and easily.
Cream butter and shortening together until light and fluffy. Add vanilla and powdered sugar. Mix for 2 – 3 minutes or until light in color and texture.
Now spoon in the full container of marshmallow fluff. Mix until it comes together.
Place in a piping bag with a Wilton 1M tip if you want to impress your guests! This is the perfect frosting for piping. It leaves nice sharp edges.
Use this frosting on cakes, cupcakes, or even cookies! No matter how or where you serve it, you’ll have fun designing with this sturdy but fluffy icing!
Serve and enjoy!
This frosting can be stored at room temperature for 1 – 2 days. After that you might want to put it into the fridge.
