Puff Pastry Cherry Pie Ingredients
You will find a printable recipe card at the bottom of this post but here’s a look at what you’ll need,
- 1 21-ounce can cherry pie filling
- I sheet puff pastry
- 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
That’s it, friends. Just three simple ingredients!
How to Make Puff Pastry Cherry Pie
Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit.
Pull out an 8x8-inch baking dish. Lightly spray with non-stick spray.
Roll out the puff pastry.
Cut in half using a pizza cutter or sharp knife.
Place one piece in the bottom of the baking dish.
Open the can of pie filling and pour it on top of the pastry.
Now add the second piece of puff pastry on top.
Crimp the edges as you prefer. I trimmed away a little excess dough in the corners.
Sprinkle with granulated sugar.
Use a razor or very sharp knife to cut a design into the pastry.
Place in preheated 400 degree oven and bake for 30 minutes or until golden brown.
Remove and place on wire rack to cool.
Slice and enjoy!
Serve with a scoop of ice cream or whipped cream.
This is a warm, delicious pie that comes together in minutes. It’s loaded with flavor and texture, and perfect for a quick dessert or even an afternoon snack! That crisp, flaky pastry, the luscious sweet cherries. . .it all comes together seamlessly!

Variations on this Recipe
Obviously this is a very versatile recipe. You can use any pie filling you like. Here are a few suggestions:
Peach pie filling: If you use this filling, add cinnamon to the sugar topping. (Yum!)
Blackberry: this is a personal favorite. You can add a bit of lemon zest to the berries or the sugar on top. (Yum!)
Blueberries: Same suggestions as with the blackberry. Lemon is a great addition.
Apple Pie Filling: This is a perfect choice for fall. Add a bit of cinnamon or pumpkin pie spice to the filling and the sugar topping.
